Terms of Service

How engagements are scoped, what we commit to, who owns what, and where the limits sit.

Scope

These terms cover use of this website and, unless a signed agreement says otherwise, the services HuiTu Technology provides. Where a project agreement and these terms conflict, the project agreement takes precedence.

Use of this website

The content on this site is provided for information. Sample datasets, tables and maps shown here are illustrative and are labelled as sample project data. They are not real client deliverables and should not be used for analysis or decision-making.

You may not use this site to submit unlawful material, to attempt to gain unauthorised access, or to interfere with its availability for others.

How engagements work

  • Every project begins with a written scope covering sources, fields, coverage, delivery formats and acceptance criteria.
  • Quotes are fixed against that scope. Work outside it is quoted separately before it starts, never billed as a surprise.
  • Where a pilot sample is part of the scope, you review it before the full run so the schema can be corrected early.
  • Timelines given in a quote assume the source data behaves as it did during scoping. Where it does not, we tell you promptly and propose options.

Your responsibilities

  • Confirming that you are entitled to request the data in question and to use it for your stated purpose.
  • Providing accurate information about the sources, geography and intended use.
  • Where you supply data to us, confirming that you have the right to do so.
  • Reviewing deliverables within the agreed review period.

Our commitments

  • We work only with publicly available information, open data and sources you are authorised to use.
  • We do not circumvent authentication, paywalls or platform protections, and we will decline work that would require it.
  • We document what was collected, when, from where, and what could not be collected.
  • We state the limits and assumptions of every analysis in the delivery.

Ownership and licensing

You own the deliverables produced for your project, including the datasets and reports, once payment is complete. We do not resell project output to other clients.

We retain ownership of our general tooling, libraries and internal methods. Where a deliverable includes pipeline code written for you, it is licensed to you for unlimited internal use.

Third-party data included in a delivery remains subject to its own licence. Where that applies, the licence and any attribution requirement are stated in the delivery documentation.

Confidentiality

We treat your brief, your data and the existence of specific project details as confidential. Case studies published on this site are anonymised and use representative sample data. We will not publish anything identifying you without written permission.

What we do and do not warrant

We warrant that work is performed with reasonable skill and care, and that deliverables meet the acceptance criteria agreed in the scope.

We do not warrant that any dataset is complete, because no collected dataset is. We state the achieved coverage and the method used to measure it. We also do not warrant commercial outcomes: analysis reduces uncertainty in a decision, it does not guarantee its result.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of a project is limited to the fees paid for that project. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits or business interruption. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Payment and cancellation

  • Invoicing terms are set out in the project agreement. Larger projects are typically invoiced in stages.
  • Either party may terminate an engagement in writing. Work completed up to that point is payable.
  • Where a project is paused at your request for an extended period, we may need to re-scope before resuming, because source data changes.

Governing terms and contact

We may update these terms; the date at the top of this page reflects the current version. Projects are governed by the terms in force when their scope was agreed. Questions about these terms can be sent to jinlongc7c@gmail.com.
